WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT THIS MUSICAL
... While the production costs of the shows I see in NYC are staggering, I assure you that the entertainment value of Behind the Bedroom Wall - the Musical would put several of those shows to shame. The Bushnell will be following BTBW with interest.
David Fay, CEO, The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts

Behind the Bedroom Wall - the Musical MUST be performed all over America for audiences of all ages as it is a great educational tool for learning about man's inhumanity toward his fellow man and encouraging each individual to play an active part in making our world a better place.
Richard Lakin, former educational administrator and author of Teaching as an Act of Love

BTBW is a powerful instrument with which to teach youngsters (and all of us) the importance of standing up, of making tough moral choices, to open up to an inclusive love of neighbor, regardless of ethnic or religious differences of any kind.
Gerald Klaverkamp, Chandler, Arizona

While I expected that the show would be good, I was not prepared for how moved I was. The final number of Act I, "Sabbath Prayer", was beautiful and very powerful as was the concluding anthem. I would rate this production on a very professional level.

COMMENTS FROM PARENTS AND STUDENTS WHO SAW THE PREMIER OF THE SHOW
STUDENTS
The play was phenomenal and the acting was amazing. It tells the true meaning fo loyalty and friendship because Korinna had to choose to be loyal to her country or loyal to her family. One of my friends cried at the part when the two little Jewish children were being chased and teased in the street just because they were Jewish. The music also definitely controlled how the audience felt and particular times. - Emily - sixth grade student
I liked the music because it gave me a different perspective. It was weird because the music had an effect on me that I hadn't anticipated. I liked the moral and the fact that the story was based on stories like that really happening. It made me think about how important it is to make your own decisions and how you shouldn't exclude people because of their religion. I felt it was easier to learn about the time period and more fun by watching the musical than reading about it in a textbook. The musical, and what I learned, is something I'll remember for a very long time. - Taylor - sixth grade student
I liked the whole thing, but I especially liked the music. It was appealing. I thought it was interesting that there were people hiding behind the wall because I had read about that kind of thing before. It was interesting watching it being played out on stage. - Bobby - sixth grade student
I liked the suspense of the story. When the Nazis came into the house when the Jewish family was being hidden there, I worried that the Jewish people would get caught. It reminded me of the American history of the black people and how they were treated bad because of their skin color just like the Jewish people in Germany were treated badly because of their religion. I learned a lot from the play. I didn't know that Hitler was ordering school books to be changed and rewritten to fit what he wanted people to think and believe. I hope something like the Holocaust doesn't happen anywhere else. - Andrew - sixth grade student
I loved the show. The Dream Scene was cool because it was all about all of Korinna's fears. In the end, it helped her overcome them. I wanted to slap Rita, Korinna's friend, because she didn't care about being Jewish people or being loyal to friends. - Rachel - sixth grade student
FROM PARENTS:
We found Behind the Bedroom Wall to be at once enchanting and compelling. To hear children's voices sing with such beauty, knowing they sing of one of the greatest tragedies of our time, was indeed an unforgettable experience. Congratulations to Laura Williams, Laurie Adams and Joan Burr for their courageous story, their moving score, and most importantly, for reminding us that we can "Never Forget". - Gina and Chris Lemmon
